“I was trying so desperately to hang onto this sense of self-reliance, and even though my friends and family had wrapped me in love and support, I really wasn’t seeing it for a while because my sense was that I really had to push forward on my own. It took me a long time to say, ‘oh, okay, you can watch my baby during rehearsal’ or any variety of things that we’re used to kind of checking off on our own because we are our own fully formed business as a person.”
